FRESH FROM THE HAGUE: Typemasters Exhibition / Thursday August 7th-Friday 15th / He Made She Made Gallery The Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, has just produced another Type and Media graduating show and AGDA has brought it to Australia.
Eight posters, representing the work of some of the best emerging type designers in the world will be seen for the first time outside of The Hague next week in Sydney before touring to other states.
First run in 2002, The Royal Academy’s Type and Media program attracts design students from all over the world. It’s a one-year intensive course where students collaborate and delve more deeply into type design.
Opening the Sydney exhibition will be Australian graduate and designer, Troy Leinster, who is one of only four Australians to ever complete the course along with Dave Foster (2012), Dan Milne (2009) and Wendy Ellerton (2005).
Troy’s Brisbane typeface was one of the highlights of the 2013 exhibition, which toured The Hague, The Netherlands; Berlin, Germany; Brisbane, Australia; Moscow, Russia; and Sofia Bulgaria.
The Typemasters Exhbiition in Sydney is the first scheduled showing in Australia, so don’t miss it.
