SLAB Natures Inspiration

When we were asked to design a simple wooden fruit plate it wasn’t immediately obvious which direction we should be going it. There are various directions a project like this could take. Many designers and craftsmen think immediately of the time proven technique of wood turning to produce plates or bowls for they use in food presentation. That was rejected as being to obvious. After some experimentation it was decided to pursue the path of simplicity so that the form of the fruit became the focus of peoples attention rather than the vessel on which or in which they were presented.
